Litigation Paralegal – Job Description

Location: New York, NY – On‑site, Monday–Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Firm Overview:

My client is a nationally recognized civil‑rights and employment‑discrimination law firm, committed to representing individuals in high‑impact litigation involving sexual harassment, employment discrimination, disability rights, and other complex civil‑rights matters. As part of the team, the paralegal will join a collaborative environment focused on excellence, justice, and client service.

Role Summary:

The Litigation Paralegal supports attorneys throughout all stages of litigation, from initial intake through discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals. This role requires attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain litigation case files, deadlines, and calendars.

• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and exhibits.

• Assist with e‑discovery, document review, and production.

• Prepare and file documents with federal and state courts and agencies.

• Support attorneys with trial preparation, exhibit binders, and logistics.

• Conduct legal research and draft internal summaries or memos.

• Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and case‑tracking tools.

Required Qualifications:

• Paralegal certificate or Bachelor's degree.

• 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience (employment/civil‑rights preferred).

• Strong knowledge of federal and state court rules and filing procedures.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e‑discovery tools, and document management systems.

• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• On‑site availability Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in employment discrimination, sexual harassment, or disability‑rights litigation.

• Experience with EEOC or state fair‑employment agencies.

• Trial‑prep and appellate‑support experience.

• Spanish or ASL proficiency is a plus.
